简介
SuperHuman - one of the hottest rock bands in Baltic region of Europe was formed in 2004 by guitarist Uldis, a well known rock musician from Riga, Latvia. “It was a tough road”, he explains, “It took almost a year to find the right people who really knew how to rock’n’roll. We’re all about playing pure rock’n’roll – attitude and all. Accept it or step back, just listen to our music. It speaks for itself”, - Uldis says with a grin. The sound of SuperHuman is a blend of heavy guitar riffs and great melodies. This combination truly defines their fresh vision of what modern rock music is about. Their live performances support this vision. It’s a true rock show packed full of energy and emotion. Band has been actively touring throughout the Baltic States – Latvia, Estonia and Lithuania, gaining momentum and broadening their fan base. Recent career highlights were supporting the legendary Billy Idol on his tour in Baltic countries in 2006 and supporting Reamonn in their Baltic tour dates this year. A collaboration with well known British producer Greg Haver (Lost Prophets, Manic Street Preachers, Breed 77 - to name a few) provided SuperHuman debut EP “Taste It” (2006) and delivered top 3 song “Alone” and rock oriented stations favorite “Voices”. In summer of 2007 the band releases their full length debut album “As Human As We Are”. Again, Greg Haver was producing and Clint Murphy (Manfred Mann's Earth Band, Manic Street Preachers, etc) was chosen as a sound engineer. Single "Hey You" from this album became one of the biggest hits of the year in Latvia, topping National airplay top for 8 (!) weeks straight and defined SuperHuman as one of the most successful acts in their home country at the moment. “The beauty of this album is that it covers both sides of our sound”, explains drummer Dims “Our preference is to be heavy, rockin’ and full of energy, but also with lyrics and melodies that touch you on a very personal level...That’s why people respond to our music – because of strong emotions expressed in youthful form of sound”. SuperHuman will continue their hard work and dedication to what they love by actively shopping their debut album to international labels and of course performing live! Why the name SuperHuman? “There is a bitter irony attached to the name of the band”, laughs bassist Ed. “Rock musicians have always been idolized and viewed as invincible. When it comes down to it, we’re just four guys that love what we do. Our hope is that others will love it as much as we do!”
