简介
With a diverse set of influences (e.g. Beats Antique, Portugal. The Man, Bonobo, Queens of the Stone Age, Purity Ring, and the The Kills) Kronen creates a complex, genre-blended sound. As Kronen's sophomore album, 'Predetermined Reality' shows the evolution of Kronen's complex and experimental sound. Caleb Kronen (Vocals / Guitar) After I presented my ground breaking research publication on hearing aid signal processing at the world renowned 21st International Congress of Acoustics, I am continuing to be doing paid research in CU’s Hearing Research Laboratory, conducting another research project on hearing aid music-streaming devices (which connect to phones and portable MP3 players) and hearing aid compression. As researcher in the complex topic of hearing aid processing and acoustics, I know what it takes to fulfill every last duty that comprise a project. Using our 8 years of jazz and classical music theory in addition to our profound knowledge of hearing science, Kronen’s debut album breaks the rules of traditional western music theory. Instead, our experimental electronic rock, (consisting of unique chord progressions and non-western modes of music) utilizes nonconventional instrument arrangements, meter and rhythm. Lyrically, the social commentary pushes listeners be introspective. Acoustically, the music is designed to toy with the psychoacoustic phenomena occurring within the listener’s auditory system. My top influential artists are Bonobo, Queens of the Stone Age and Portugal. The Man. Kato Kronen ( Drums/ Vocals) As a drummer there is always a difficult balance that one must keep. I’m speaking of the inverse relationship between creativity and keeping perfect tempo/meter. While my drum beats may not be the most complex, they hold down a steady salient beat for people to dance to. For this reason, my main influence is electronic rock duo, Ratatat. This cover by SunSquabi shows how live drums can accentuate electronic music in a unique way. Eddie Nerney ( Lead Guitar) As an aspiring astrophysics student music helps me to balance my life with creative avenues of thought. I am the lead guitarist of the group. I have played guitar for 10 years and have studied the theory behind it extensively. I try to add harmony and depth to the composition and bring energy to our live experience. Improvisation is a key element to any of my performances building off of the set practiced framework. I draw influence from blues, rock n’ roll, jazz, and bluegrass.
