A Few Good Men explores the subject of politics, and how easily lead the masses are by politicians who use fear to promote their own agendas. Ultimately, the message of the song is to encourage people to think for themselves, and to not simply believe everything they see on the news, read in the newspaper, or hear on the radio. The more educated a population is on relevant issues, the more perceptive they will be to the shallowness of political leaders whose only interest is to stay in power. Once we truly see these con men and women for what they are, the genuine article (ie leaders who are truly self sacrificing, sincerely want to serve society and whose merit as leaders is self evident, not bolstered by the sycophants around them or by biased media organisations) will be clear. The ridiculousness of slogans and the manipulation of people by fear mongering needs to stop, and people should be treated with more dignity.
