With guitarist Isaku Suzuki from MOMY FUNK!, the ubiquitous bassist Masamichi "Mah" Aoyagi who's played with Green Massive among others, and drummer of Marleys and the CHAN-MIKA band Eiji Yoshikawa, this trio is revved up and ready to go, with a formidable sidekick-pianist and accordionist Eri Konishi known for her work with Copa Salvo, Green Massive and Exotico De Lago, bringing some extra zhuzh for the road. The 9-song rocker (not to be mistaken with rock rock) starts off with "Hi Steady", a reggae rock steady tune with a twist sure to become a classic. The groovy riffs and gentle strum of the vintage guitar-one of many "bizarre guitars" of the 60-70s which has become a sought-after collectible genre of vintage guitars in Japan-dance with the playful, bold bass on the mellow but sturdy beat of the drums, while the delicate yet memorable melody of the piano flutters through and captures your heart. Like a Caribbean treasure hunt, the next "dope version of band Special Others" opens with an upbeat beach dance tune and transcends to a psychedelic rock dungeon, finds the treasure and comes back to the beach to celebrate and "Melt In The Sun". If you're up for something sweet, they've got Afro-Cuban Jazz cooked with sugar and Reggae Dub: "Cuba Jamm". If you're more into the exotic and fun side of sweet there's "Banana Ethnica" and "Pine Pie Blues". Their melancholic tunes do not disappoint either-"Lamento De Gonta" and "Donky Walk" will ease your heartbreak but not too morose it makes you want to weep. So next time you want to dance with a drink or lighten up a sorrowful day, take these "Bizarre Trips In The Garage" and you'll be there in no time.
