This Album "Authentic Mercurials" has been over 15 months in the making, featuring 16 different artists including seven nationalities in a truly worldwide collaboration. We (at grande mal) are all proud of this project finally coming to fruition... 'grande mal' is a new label, totally independent and financed with fire, and fed with 'Authentic, Mercurial' talent from ...well, everywhere! We have an 'Art first' approach to all of our projects, we seek to cultivate the extraordinary ... This( Authentic Mercurials #1) is our debut multi artist release - And with it we hope to lay the foundations for many more superb (Authrntic and mercurial!) works in the near future... Here's some background info... I first decided to form a record label (grande mal) to release my own Rap music. However, as I own a small studio in a place called Moss Side, in Manchester, England, I soon realized that there was a large amount of untapped talent in my own hood. Also, as an independent artist I've been able to check out many places across the globe - (always taking my little 8 track digital studio with me) and I have been fortunate in being able to link up with scores of other 'Authentic Mercurials' along the way... Here are just a few of them... G.A.V - A dope lyricist and Rapper from Moss Side Manchester. The G.A.V has a large you-tube following amazing viewers/listeners with his true- life ghetto rhymes and unique flow. A storyteller with a lifetimes worth of knowledge. His debut album is set to drop soon... PeaceBeats- From West London to Manchester 'PeaceBeats' brings emotive heratfelt melodies and sweeping soulful harmonies to his rap tracks. Both producer and singer/rapper 'Peacebeats' leans towards the philosophical and conscious approach to both life and music. Another 'grande mal' artist whose debut album is already in the pipeline... Knees bent, palms down, and... ears to the ground! Coach Jeets- 'grande mal' head coach and label founder. An incredibly distinctive cypher rapper and music producer from Moss Side, Manchester. The Coach was also a member of old skool mcr rap group 'Zenfo'. He has since released two studio albums - His debut solo album -'So it Goes' (2016) & the more recent 'Chez Raps' (2017) His Next album 'All is For the Best' is due for release on sept 17th 2018 on grande mal..of course! CeeOne - Young Leeds based word-smith CeeOne, is already a massive hit on you-tube with his intelligent and brilliantly delivered bars. Another 'Authentic Mercurial' who passed through our studio in Moss Side for a (very quick) session recently. We expect that there will be a whole lot more to come from CeeOne in the near future... Say no more! K Breezy- Debut single 'Big Gal 2U' from this articulate young female Rapper. This track was recently recorded in a London studio- and K Breezy has only just finished shooting the video for this banger, which was filmed back in her home town of Moss Side- good to know! :) Keep a look out for this one. Topz- Another young emcee/entrepreneur from Moss Side and a rap/trap/grime artist who is still developing in his craft and yet... every time he drops a bar in the studio - Young 'Topz' leaves damaged minds and open mouths! The studio beckons...but so does the road...download his track and let 'Topz' know which way to go! HM/StateNine - Our 'bwoi dem' from 'Seremban' in Malaysia! Brother music maker and rapper Hizwan/HM is owner of 'StateNine' (one of the freshest outlets for south east Asian urban music). Coach Jeets went over for a studio session last year after linking up with JCB - The Introspective Intellect (A serious Rapper from Toronto- He's also a director of Gecko Audio LTD) at a family dinner in Malaysia! The Coach returned with 'International Connections' recorded and almost in the bag... Except to add the exciting 'Mo Ko Ko' from Myanmar to give this track a truly 'International Connection'! Paul Gleave- A singing, song writing, guitar playing, blues man, who writes and performs and records his heavy duty musings, managing all the while to maintain his day job- driving a school bus for mentally/physically challenged kids! - What a Don! The PG passed through our studio to record 'Bank Job' in 2016. We rate him. Hers a few more of the artist who feature on 'Authentic Merurials #1' Vaisha Naidu - A young poetess from Malaysia- Coach Jeets recorded her on an 8 track in Port Dickson. Meanwhile in Kuala lumpur (Jeets ran into old mate Geratan Chong a studio engineer in the Bangsar district of the City, who also happens to write his own music. A plus B equals = 'Rain Bullets'... Boleh! (as they say in Malaysia...) Kierno /Lazy Charlotte- Rock and Roll! Putting the Irish into 'Manc' for many years, 'Kierno' is well known in the city for his love of indie/guitar music and his boozy antics! Don't be fooled though, a serious songwriter and talented musician lurks beneath. Stockport based Kierno popped into our studio to record this gem... big up! R.H.A.F.A - Madrid born 'Rapper Espanyol'... This 'Hermano' drops bombs! He also mixed and arranged this Spanish/English jam- 'Seven Seas' featuring Coach jeets. Viva! Maxine Cambell - A published Mancunian poetess, Maxine rarely performs her work, so getting her on the mike was a bonus... A fellow word-smith.
