This is the second release by the Crow Women. It's a reflection of six years of our lives as a sisterhood of Goddess-womyn. We wrote songs for the ceremonies we conducted during this time period. "You're a Woman Now" was written for the menarche ceremony of a daughter, "The Croning Song" was written for a Wise Woman vigil for one of our sisters. "The Handparting Song" was used in a ceremony of divorce from a partner and also when respectfully releasing a sister from the circle when she moved on to a new spiritual path. In our group, we dedicate to one of the 5 elements each year, so you'll find the themes of earth, air, fire, water and spirit are threads woven throughout the album. Part of our spiritual practice has been to discover the elemental Goddesses of our own ecological region. For example, you'll hear reference to Ooshbala, the goddess of the river that runs through our town, and Magurkh, the goddess of the mountains that tower to the north of our home. We enjoy life, and you'll find songs that reflect our zest, such as "Sing Ho! for the Mead", one of 2 songs that honor the brewers among us.

This album is a highly personal reflection of the magic of the Crow Women. We offer it to you in the spirit of sharing. We hope you'll use the songs in your own magic. Blessed be!
