Chris Glover is often reluctant to categorize his music into one particular genre. He prefers to describe the music he creates as "adult pop". Listening to his debut EP "No One Like Me", the description is fitting. The disc opens with the sensuous and sexually charged "Why Wait". With a driving electric guitar riff and lines like "I've got this fire here for you, why let love wait" the intention becomes pretty clear. The title song "No One Like Me" is an uptempo dance anthem about self love and the refusal of settling for less than you deserve in love. The next two songs "Leave Me" and "Lonely" delve into the emotions of loss and loneliness. Chris' voice on these two particular songs express a vulnerability and ache that is almost unsettling. From the delicate baritone to the reverberating bass, you can hear the honesty and experience in his vocal delievery. The cd leaves you with the big and cinematic "Sunshine". A song about faith, love and believing in yourself. The blaring guitars, horn section and tom toms make for a celebratory and optimistic ending. No One Like Me is a mutilayered EP that has the lyrical depth of a traveled singer/songwriter and the dance pop appeal that will get you up and moving.
