Uglyface (f.k.a. The Misanthropist) is a rapper and producer from Stockholm, Sweden. The album ’Verses of Vices and Virtues’ is a collection of songs written and recorded during his travels in Asia and the Americas. From the Colombian jungle to the streets of Hanoi, from his birthplace Stockholm to his temporary home in Dallas TX, Uglyface has gathered material and inspiration which has resulted in this album as well as a vast number of beats and video recordings. Having previously collaborated with artists such as Masta Ace, Royce da 5’9, Termanology, King Magnetic and Cappadonna etc, Uglyface, for this project, takes on the role of rapper and producer alone. Being a beat maker first and foremost, he assumes the position as rapper with a personal and unique style of writing using wordplay, multi-syllable rhyming and abstract storytelling to cover topics circling around man kind’s, and his own, relationship to high and low morals, hence the title ’Verses of Vices and Virtues’. With productions inspired by musical genres like Cumbia, Afro Jazz, 70’s Psychedelic Rock etc. and unorthodox arrangements, Uglyface attempts to create a different listening experience for fans of hiphop and/or art.
