In late 1989 two young Cousins began recording original songs on a humble 4-track Porta studio. Duncan Pope wrote the lyrics & provided vocals. Dave Bell created the music & was in charge of the recording/mixing. In 1996 The Conspiracy went Digital, using an 8-Track Studio and the sound improved 100%. In 1997 two coloured vinyl EP's were released in Germany, followed by a CD album in 1998, to considerable critical acclaim from the likes of Mark.E.Smith (Fall) - "Great music & vocals" & T.V.Smith (Adverts) - "Lovely melodies & arrangements". Since then there have been several releases on German & English independant lables, "Caged", "Ghost" & "Sword of Damoces" along with several inclusions on various compilations over the years. In a nutshell The Conspiracy's music is very English. It is an eclectic, intelligent & original interpretation of the finest elements of British Pop, Indie Rock & Folk, plus a lot more!
