简介

Three soloists - Duggan, Clemen, and Hrdlík join the Prague Chamber Orchestra on this CD. Seán Duggan, is a twice winner (1983 and 1991) of the Johann Sebastian Bach International Competition for Pianists. He performs Bach’s Piano Concerto in D minor. Duggan performed the complete cycle of Bach’s keyboard works eight times throughout the USA and Europe. Presently, Duggan is recording the complete cycle of Bach’s keyboard (piano) music which will comprise 24 CDs. Bettine Clemen, performs Quantz’s Flute Concerto in A major. The first movement’s cadenza was written by Clemen. She was one of the first Western musicians invited by the Chinese government to perform and teach in Shanghai and Beijing. She has performed in New York’s Lincoln Center and London’s Royal Albert Hall and has played in over 96 countries. Miloslav Hrdlík, performed Sperger’s original violone concerto which has never been recorded on a violone. This particular size violone was played in 17th - 18th century, later it was replaced by the violoncello and the double bass. Today it is not played except in a baroque ensemble where it plays general bass line. He was the principal double bassist of the Prague Radio Symphony and soloist of the Czechoslovak Chamber Orchestra. The three musicians come together and perform a trio written especially for them by Robert LeBlanc. He is a composer, pianist, organist, harpsichordist, and chorus master and his music was performed for Pope John Paul II. The Prague Chamber Orchestra is one of the finest in the world. They were established in 1951 and became renowned for their interpretations of the classics. These great musicians were recorded by an international award winning audio engineer, Vaclac Zamazal. His high quality recording gives audiophiles boundless delight.
