Londiwe Fihlela , began singing at the age of 10 and cites her parent's diverse musical tastes as having the biggest influence . Her mother being a vocalist herself taught her the basics of music . Londi attended the Durban University of Technology where she completed her Public Relations Management Diploma, after graduation she decided to pursue music as a full-time career. The decision was influenced by her experience in the Idols SA competition, where she made it through to the group stages two years in a row. Despite not making it further in the competition, she did not give up on her dream of being a well-known musician. After the idols experience, she met aspiring musicians like herself who helped her get her foot in the door. 22 year old Londi Fihlela commonly known as just LONDI is set to bring a wave of exciting change to South Africa’s music industry. The petite, vibrant and highly talented young lady from Empangeni is one of KwaZulu-Natal’s up-and-coming afro-soul and afro-jazz artists. Londi’s first single, iNhliziyo, will officially be released in three weeks time. Her album which is about love, heartbreak and life in general, will also include a mix of vocal, soulful house music. "My music is a crossover between house and jazz, music fans will appreciate this new sound, in all my music performances we have a live band accompanying me " says Londi Londi, who is signed to Born Free Rhythms, a music and publishing house based in Durban, has described her sound as timeless and appealing to all ages. Her high spirit and charisma which translates into her music has largely been influenced by personal experiences and being a young woman in South Africa. Londi and her team are adding the finishing touches to her debut album which will be released before the end of 2014. She has promised to dazzle music lovers across the board. She has been working with a team of professional producers such as Ntsika from Nomadic Tribe, who is also a member of internationally renowned acapella group, The Soil. The strong vocalist has also teamed up with popular Durban DJ Betasweet, a producer ; as well as producer Snethemba Msane, also known as Snipes, a creative musician who studied music in Germany. Local group, Turning Point which is a trio that was part of the winning team in last year’s Clash of the Choirs, laid the backing vocals.
