Static Disruptors formed in 1979 at Lawrence University in Appleton WI. From the very start the band was prolific and creatively restless, exploring punk, new wave, reggae and funk through original songs inspired by groundbreakers of the era such as Talking Heads and The Police. After two years on campus and many a delirious beer-soaked dance party, the group decamped to Washington DC and evolved into a seminal East Coast punk-funk ensemble. Just before that departure, Static Disruptors, at this stage an eight piece massive with three active songwriters, went into Saxe-Irish recording studios in Appleton and laid down two Impeccably arranged and performed tracks: "Modern Man" and "National Geographic". After more than 30 years in the vault these historic recordings are finally seeing worldwide release.
