The Fringe of Eternity, affectionately known as The Fringe E.P. by the band members, is an eclectic mix of everything that can come from the future of Torquemada. The Fringe of Eternity orchestral piece covers the technical composition ability of the band. Using the premise of Birth of the Universe, the band endeavored to create an epic movie score to act as a stage entry piece and set the standard for the songs to come. Birth of the Universe symbolizes the raw power of Torquemada and how they enjoy a night out. It’s hard, it’s fast and it’s epic. Ghosts of Mars combines storytelling, ballad like melodies and some serious progression. It is considered the favourite by the band members themselves and is put in context by the Interlude: War of Conscience. The E.P. concludes with Alchemy, the child of Mike Libbiter. Alchemy is the product of addiction, fixation and epic riffs. It’s dark, reflective lyrics round off the E.P. fantastically…just wait till you see them do it live!
