The song begins with the hand drum, soon accompanied by the vocals of Gilbert "Gitchie" Cheechoo singing a chant in the traditional Swamp Cree style. Shibastik comes in over a beat produced by Rob Faries with a melodic underground hip hop vibe and sets the tone and atmosphere with his Cree hunter inspired bushman lyrics. Never before had something like this been done in such a way. The song was quickly picked up for a feature on APTN's "First Music & Arts", which helped catapult Shibastik's career as one of Canada's first Native hip hop artists.
