简介
Times Neue Roman The band is Robert Bolton (aka Arowbe Arowbe Arowbe) accompanied by Alexander Punzalan Junior. While each member has had much artistic success on his own, their collaboration makes for an exciting new form. If one must describe Times Neue Roman\'s sound in terms of genre, it can only be called \"nintendo-punk-rap\" with heavily textual lyrics. Arowbe\'s flow is mercurial. Changing shapes and moving like liquid, he slides over Punzalan\'s diverse rhythmic catalogue. Their self-titled debut is in the works and the boys have described it as \"an album about music and math, glamour and glitch, girls and money, sound and silence.\" More than that, it\'s the music to shake dance floors and get loose to. Beats to bump to and lyrics worth your attention. In Summer of 2006, Arowbe released his first single, \"Once Upon A Time\" featuring Toronto songstress, Zaki Ibrahim and Tom Gist of the Harlem Diplomats. The song received spins worldwide, charting in North America and abroad. The song\'s buzz lead to Arowbe headlining a tour in Japan, a performance and interview on MTV Live and gigs with such artists as The Clipse, K\'naan, Bone Thugs-n-Harmony, K-OS, and Pretty Ricky. Outside of music, Robert Bolton is an award-winning poet and critic. He is the host of Kaleidoscope, a radio show dealing with international issues on CHRY 105.5 FM in Toronto and the promoter of the staple weekly hip-hop night, Peachfuzz Thursdays at Chinadoll, called one of \"Toronto\'s most poppin\' club nights\" by XXL magazine. Alexander Punzalan Junior has many hats. Besides Times Neue Roman, he plays in the electro-grunge band, Styrofoam Ones. He has banged out music for a plethora of Toronto artists of all genres and is working on his own eclectic album of tribal acoustic melodies. Bolton and Punzalan met in 2007 at an animated science fiction movie and have been collaborating ever since. They are currently in the final stages of their album and rehearsing a live show that will include live instrumentation, projected images and there is even some talk of backup dancers.
