This time, they bring us Rise Against in their most unusual session...unplugged. If you know Rise Against, then you'll know they are a hardcore rock band and hearing them playing acoustic versions of their songs is different. Hearing this EP, Rise Against is quite possible of playing their mosh-pit songs unplugged. Hearing songs like "Prayer of the Refugee" and "Ready to Fall" is different due to it's different pace, but it eliminates nothing that made the song great. You won't hear Tim, lead singer, scream like you would in the original version, but he still has a powerful voice. "For What It's Worth" is a new song for many, but it's a nice start to the session. "Swing Life Away" was one of their first original hits that was already acoustic to start with. So hearing this song is no different than the original, but it's still nice, speically the background singer. What amazes me is that even if the song is not most-pit fast or distorted, it's still powerful. You hear the lyrics and you recieve a more emotional reaction more so than an angry approach. Rise Against showed a different side to their already amazing music and proved than they can sound good both distorted and acoustic. The only minor problem I had with the EP was the opening intro to each and every song. This is a must have for Rise Against fans and even others will find this unique and different if they heard their songs before.
