Whiskey & Honey are Phil Greene & Lisa Scott, a songwriting team from Vacaville, California. In addition to writing songs together, they sing and perform in a rockin' country band also called Whiskey & Honey. They completed their first album in March of 2014 called "So You Wanna Have a Drink, Huh?" Their album is a mix of upbeat Rock and Country and stylish ballads. There are some pretty fun songs here, with some of the lyrical content downright funny. The song "To Kill Ya" is a play on words and it deals with a woman whose man has cheated on her. While she pretends forgiveness, she is busy spiking his tequila with antifreeze in order "to kill ya." "Shut the Front Door" is similar in that it is borrowing from the phrase "Shut the f... up." The lyric is about outrageous events that the singers just can't believe have happened. "What Am I Gonna Do" deals with a seasoned married couple who don't know what to do with each other: "What am I gonna do about my woman...what am I gonna do about my man?" This one is a playful song about a couple that in fact do love each other, but they've been around the block together a few times. "On the Interstate" is a fun song about a female truck driver, and "When Will These Cowboys Ever Learn" is a playful song about a strong, independent woman who won't put up with the usual nonsense from the guys in the bar. The album is not all fun and games, though. "Dark December" deals with the singers' disgust at what has happened to the America they once held in such high esteem.
