Recorded live at our practice room Rock and Roll soul with behind the beat swagger.Wasi began experimenting with smooth lush chords, jazz rock rhythms, and melody based guitar that has evolved into this signature Madlove Aggressively sultry sound. And this sound is the very reason why Dacia,I have been following Wasi and Madlove,filling in what is missing in the current climate of rock and roll and what's missing is that angst, that darkness, the edge, which great rock bands of the past such as Nirvana and Sound Garden and Jane's Addiction gave to rock fans in the 90's.Wasi and Madlove constantly exploring the line between emotion and structure and always go in the direction of emotion. It takes on a very signature sound Wasi & Madlove are bringing music back to the root. Literally. Wasi & Madlove are actually a "soul progressive" trio made up of Wasi Townsend on vocals/guitar with Jordan Wright on bass and Chris Raheem "Stix McKenzie" Smith on drums, coming together as Madlove. Part roots, part rock, part soul, this trio is putting out a sound that stands alone, defying all attempts to categorize or even compare in Houston's hot and cold music scene. Melodic and classic have been used to describe Wasi's lush vocals and bonafide rock-n-roll guitar rifts as Mr. Wright lays down a soulful rock steady bass delivered with bravado, verve, and undeniable passion. And, then there's Raheem Smith or "Stix McKenzie." To say Mr. Smith is a BADASS drummer is like calling the ocean a swimming pool.
