This "Best of" album contains all songs from Lotus Garden´s two albums , "Perfectly imperfect" (track 1-14 from 2002) and "Soft side of the rapids" (track 15-27 from 2004). These two albums each represent a selection of the trio´s best songs during a very productive 5 year period (the live repertoire contained many more songs which were never recorded). Lotus Garden´s core members were singer/songwriter Hans Christian Höie, pianist and backup singer Laila Tostrup Bråten and electrical bassist Per Thomas Nygaard. Most of their concerts were held in different cafes in Oslo. For the studio recordings, quite a few other instruments were added by friends so as to attain richer and fuller arrangements.

Some of the songs were occasionally played on Norwegian radio. "Keep it up" was one of the most popular songs, as were "We will go on" and "The happy loser". "Footprints in the sand" was performed at a funeral. These songs are all from the album "Perfectly imperfect". The second album, "Soft side of the rapids", was released shortly before the trio split up in 2005. It did not get the same attention as the first album. However, the songwriting, composition and performance had evolved further at this stage. This makes the second album as worthwhile to listen to, or perhaps even more so, than the first one.
