The second CD from Durham Academy's auditioned a cappella group continues the great strides made on our debut EP. Complex arrangements, lush production, dynamic soloists and emotional heights are promised by this talented group of youngsters. Founded in October of 2009, XIV Hours performs at numerous functions around Durham Academy, including our annual WISER A Cappella Jam co-hosted with our non-auditioned 60-member ensemble, Acapocalypse, and featuring many high school groups from the Triangle area. In the 2010-2011 school year we got outside of DA as well, with a performance at a Durham Bulls baseball game; two Contemporary A Cappella Recording Award nominations and one win for our debut CD, The Acapelican EP (also available on CD Baby); inclusion on the compilations Sing 7: Lucky and BOHSA 2010-11; and a trip to Nashville to both audition for the NBC show The Sing-Off and perform at the Hard Rock Cafe.
