Ever since I can remember, I’ve had an affinity for music. I bought my first guitar when I was 4 or 5 years old. It was my birthday, and I was given cash gifts. My mother took me to K-Mart…and there it was: a small scaled children’s acoustic for $30! With her approval (because that’s how it worked in the 70’s), I bought it! I had no idea how to play it. Nor did I have anyone in my life to show me how to play it. But I spent many mornings sitting on the front stoop of our duplex playing and singing songs for our neighbor while she did her weekend cleaning. That moment in my life was short-lived, but when I was 15, my parents purchased a guitar for me. Again, it was my birthday. Best I can tell, it is a late 60’s/early 70’s Hagstrom Swede ( I still have it). I still had no idea how to play it or, even worse, tune it. Somehow, I managed to learn to play Black Sabbath songs on an un-tuned guitar! From there, I was hooked. I have never had a formal lesson in music. However, I have had the fortune to have met people like Marty, George, Jeff, Joe, & Todd who have opened me to a world of music that I had not known before. All of that said, I have no pretense about the quality of my songs or the recordings thereof. I have so much fun creating these songs and my hope is that you, too, will find yourself immersed in the ongoing experiment that I call music. Peace and Love, Lee Single Wheel Records
