The Phoenix Singers were formed as a community choir of Leek High School, adopting its current name in 1985. The choir, based in Leek in The Staffordshire Moorlands region of England has a broad repertoire performing major choral works, as well as small scale pieces and contemporary music.

Often Collaborating in innovative projects the choir has recently performed in the Indian cantata "The Flames of Lanka", an acclaimed performance of Paul Spicer's Easter Oratorio as well as having a highly creative association with the New Vic Theatre, Newcastle-under-Lyme. The choir has an ongoing relationship with acclaimed folk artist Johnny Coppin as well as being asked to join other musicians on a number of occasions including performance of "The Armed Man" conducted by its composer Karl Jenkins with The Ceramic City Choir and the UK premiere of "The Missa Katharina" by Jacob de Haan with students from Keele University.
