Why, Pat Colwell’s first solo album, “Elvis Drove Me Home” of course! This is a slice of Americana at its best, a collection of musical postcards from Memphis to Maine, and all the beautiful places in between. As 1/2 of the legendary R&B Duo, the Colwell Brothers, and leader of the Soul Sensations, Pat Colwell has written and recorded countless Blues and Soul songs that get you out of your seat and out on the dance floor. This album is a little different, well actually it’s a LOT different, the instruments are mostly acoustic, and instead of saxophones and Stratocasters, the songs feature mandolins, accordions and even a 104 year old Martin guitar borrowed from a friend. This record has been lovingly produced by Brother Bob Colwell, and adopted Brother Justin Maxwell, two guys who love Maine music and know how to make records! Pat weaves tales of Love, Loss, Redemption, Camp, and Saturday Night throughout his tunes and follows Bob Dylan’s rule that, “A song is anything that can walk by itself.” Joining Pat on this record are fellow Colwell Brother’s bandmates Bob Colwell, Justin Maxwell, and David Wakefield along with special guests Reid Crewe and Hank “Hawk” Kallweit.
