GLBT Hall-of-Famer and RightOutTV Video and Music Awards recipient, Shawn Thomas, releases his 2014 studio-pop production of 14 Contemporary Christian style tracks. Thomas describes the album, “In Between the Shades of Gray,” as a departure from the praise and worship template of his previous number one CD, “Voice of Worship:” “There really wasn’t a plan or pre-established theme for this CD. Each song was written and recorded independently from the others, and, as a result, there’s a pretty wide scope of styles; whereas for the most part, my previous projects were kind of planned out ahead of time. I think it’s pretty different from anything I’ve done before, both in production and writing. It’s not that anyone’s going to hear this music and think, ‘Wow- that’s doesn’t sound anything like Shawn Thomas,’ but I do think they’ll hear something new.” The release of “In Between the Shades of Gray” marks Thomas’ eleventh year as a full-time touring artist as an openly gay Christian singer/songwriter, and also his eleventh solo CD/album since 2003. His recordings have received critical recognition awards and nominations from OutMusic, The Stonewall Society Pride in the Arts, RightOutTV, and QNation.
