简介
If Edward Sharpe, Fleet Foxes, The Roots, and Hildegard von Bingen had a jam session, it might sound something like The Crane and The Crow. The band formed on Halloween 2010 and got its start playing rock and hip hop versions of medieval Christmas carols on streets around the San Francisco Bay Area. Now boasting a roster of original songs and inventive covers, TCTC has captured audiences with their playful and imaginative sound. PRAIRIE is the band's first studio album. TCTC writes original songs with a retro feel and puts a new twist on classic songs. Modern day troubadours, they blend folk, pop, America roots music, and world music to tell timeless stories through sound. On any given song, they can evoke a 1950s doo-wop group, a New Orleans second line parade, a 1930s speakeasy combo, or a contemporary pop/rock band. Their eclectic sound is unified through instrumentation blending guitar (electric and acoustic), bass, violin, trumpet, hand drums, and toy instruments (melodica, toy piano). Added to the mix are multiple lead singers and unique group vocals, often featuring all eight members in multi-part harmonies. TCTC’s music is quirky, danceable, and fun for all ages. Founded by co-leaders Jenny Holland and Tamara Roberts, TCTC features Mike Feinberg, Pattie Hsu, Vanessa Lowe, Alicia Parker, Caroline Schnieders, and Matt Takimoto. They have performed at many Bay Area music venues and in theater and performance art productions.
