From the time I was a little kid, music has had a huge impact on me. Frankly, music makes me feel like I’m going to explode! What a great blessing it is that the Lord has put a love for some type of music into just about everyone. I’ve always been a songwriter. I was writing lyrics and recording melodies on my big sister’s reel-to-reel when I was just a pup. I remember my Dad was into tom T. Hall, Willie Nelson, Johnny Cash, and most of all, he loved the writing of Kris Kristofferson. My mom was into Bach, Beethoven, Handel, and Copeland, my big brother was into Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, and Pat Travers. My big sister was into Elton John, John Denver, and the Carpenters, and all I wanted to do was listen and record my own thoughts. I didn’t want to learn an instrument. I started playing guitar out of pure boredom as a 15 year old. Next thing you know I’m an underage kid playing in bars in my small town in eastern Idaho. All I cared about was music. I remember playing until my fingers bled. It was soooo cool. I didn’t even care where we were playing, when we were playing, or what we were playing – I just wanted to play. By the time I was 22 I was playing in a road band doing the northwest road circuit with a county/rock band and making decent money – but it didn't take long before I was hating the bar scene. Then I met a wonderful woman, quit the road, got married, opened a small recording studio and worked on my own music while recording others to help make ends meet. I recorded, rock bands, country bands, rap artists (when rap was young), death metal, punk rock, reggae, blues, cover band demos, self-help records, and cowboy poetry. Then the best thing happened – I became a father. Wow! What a life-change that was! Suddenly I found myself looking at a whole other picture. I realized that some of the most important things you can do is being a part of a bigger picture. I found myself going to church with my wife & son. I was getting involved in the community, sitting on director’s boards and believe it or not… playing music with the church band! (gasp!) Who would have ever suspected? Over the last few years, I’ve had people ask me when I was going to release my own music CD and I always said ‘It’s coming up eventually”! The songs on this CD “Coming Up Eventually” are a collection of the better recordings I’ve done over the last 6 years. I told myself that when my boy went off to college, I would jump back into my songwriting again. This CD is the first part of that commitment. The Lord has given me so very much. I hope that this music will touch others in a meaningful way. I want every word to be heard as heart felt praise.
