Songstress Dani Moz lends listeners her heart and draws them in with each emotionally charged melody she sings. Her music provides an irresistible combination of piano-driven, jazz-infused pop/rock packed with soulful power vocals guaranteed to leave you wanting more. With the recent release of her debut Untamed EP, Dani showcases her versatile songwriting abilities and proves she has launched herself into what will become a long and exciting musical journey. Born and raised in Delmar, New York, music played an important role in Dani's childhood. Her earliest memories of listening to musicians such as Carly Simon, James Taylor, Michael Jackson, Elton John and Billy Joel laid the foundation for her growing passion. Along with singing, Dani began playing the piano in grade school thanks to the upright she grew attached to in her teacher's classroom. Her immediate draw to the instrument was followed by 10 years of exploration and study, and is what drives her writing process today. Along with piano, Dani is a trained saxophonist and self-taught guitarist who spent her high school in numerous choral groups, band rehearsals and musical theater productions. She became fascinated with female singer/songwriters and pianists such as Fiona Apple and Sarah McLachlan and sat endlessly at her piano playing their music as if they were her own. Her college years were spent focused mainly on academics, but Dani stayed involved in music by participating in campus choirs and instructive vocal lessons. Traveling the world in her studies abroad and experiencing love and heartbreak is what inspired her to begin writing short poems and melodies. In the Fall of '07, Dani began competing in numerous talent competitions and won the title of "Albany Idol". For the prize, she was sent to perform the National Anthem at the opening NFL Giants vs. Jets game of the season. Most recently, she became a top five finalist in a singing/songwriting competition, "Capital Region's Got Talent," and grabbed the attention of people within her community. Dani has also spent a lot of time in the recording studio, both writing and producing music of different genres. She began working with producers in New York after she graduated college and has since been recording her own music at SI Studios in Old Forge, PA. In addition to performing her original music with her band, she is currently the lead singer for one of Boston's premier live cover bands, Hot Mess.
