Christian Cordan and Young Kix have released their first duo EP together entitled Family First. The EP contains seven songs ranging from topics such as living the "High Life", chasing dreams, and keeping "Family First". The inspiration from the EP comes from the fact that Christian Cordan and Young Kix grew up together and are also cousins. The first song is called Family First and it is essentially what the concept of the project is about, which is keeping your "Family First". The second song is callled Missing You and it features a sample from the Diana Ross song titled Missing You; the concept of the song is the artist depition of how they feel about their past dealings with relationships. The third song titled High Life features a very lofty sound and also a producer/rapper from Little Rock, Ark named "The Purple Phoenix". This song highlights the each artists illustration of what the High Life is like for them. The fourth song is titled Toast and has a video to go along with the song. Toast is about enjoying life and making a Toast to living life and living life right. After Toast the fifth song is titled Body and it is a more upbeat tempo song where Christian Cordan and Young Kix are essentially explaining to women how a night with them would be a night well spent. The sixth song is titled Slow and it is an extention of Body where the artist explain to the women how they would like to take their time with the worman they are with and make sure she enjoys every minute of their time together. The last song is titled Codeine Fiend and it is a more upbeat Hip-Hop song that is describing how women get so attached to them that it is like they are fiends for them. Overall this project is meant to inspire people to remember their families and take care of their loved ones. Through this collaboration we want to express the importance of unity and teamwork.
