I have worked so hard – I have tried to be righteous as I carried out my duties and responsibilities, but they have felt like heavy burdens, wearing me out and not bringing me the changed life I was hoping for. Lord, the responsibility of trying to achieve my own dreams, to live right and do right – was met with strain and distress, my fortune eludes me, instead anxiety and grief has been my bread. I have become edgy and tense, discontented and restless. My first impulse is to get up and run, to fix my own and others problems, to meet their needs by my own meager recourses. Resting in You and receiving from you has eluded me. The weight of my stress and the load of my pains are increasing, I am overloaded, overburdened and overwhelmed. Others don’t see all I do, they do not know my heart, they misinterpret me, and they are even hurtful and unkind, expecting more out of me. The accumulated cargo of my life is too much, to heavy, to difficult to handle, I am coming to my end. ‘Come to me.’ I hear you say it again; ‘Come to me’ I hear your Command again ‘Come to me and I will give you rest’ YES LORD, I am so ready, I receive this invitation, HERE I AM LORD... I COME TO YOU RIGHT NOW.... Father, your promise is for me to enter a Sabbath rest. That you’ve made available for all your children – I am confident I will reach this rest. This rest will benefit me greatly, because I have heard this message about rest, I have opened my heart to it. My trust in you, I mix with my faith in your great and precious promises, so I go through the cross to the resurrection side of life, entering my Sabbath rest, sizing from my works, as You Father sized from Yours. Thank you for taking me by the hand with your reassuring touch, calling me with your tender tone of voice, giving me focused personal attention, as you leave the 99 sheep behind, looking for me, until you find me, rescuing me to bring me safely home. Again I hear you Jesus, saying: ‘lie down, see these green, lush, pastures, lie down in these meadows of peace and I will give you true rest. I lie down I am nurtured by the tranquility I lie down and find rest in the finished work of my Christ. Jesus, You are my Shepherd, my Good Shepherd, I know that these green lush pastures did not just happen by chance You went before me to prepare this place of rest and peace You tilled and prepared the soil, You cleared out the rocks of life that produced a stony heart in me You broke up the hard, proud clay of my emotions through Your Word of truth and Your Spirit of love. I have no strength left within me – I cannot stand on my own any longer – for my soul is downcast. I have tried desperately to stand on my own and to manage my own affairs, but without success. I’m on my back in a place of affliction and desolation. I CRY OUT TO YOU My Deliver My Redeemer My Savior My Comforter Come and brings relief to the pressures of my life. RESTORER OF MY SOUL I am a sheep that has gone astray – I have gone away from You – even knowing what is right, I went wrong. I have fallen and suddenly, the center of gravity has shifted and I can no longer feel the strength of my salvation – I have cut-off that place of circulation in Your Spirit. I cry in distress – come with Your gift of grace again, that will lead me to that place of godly grief – and godly repentance – for I have caused great pain and grief to You – My God – and to others, and to myself. I did not take heed to the warnings and thought too highly of myself. I have fallen into temptation – committed sin. I have compromised my beliefs and Your truths. I have broken your law – I have weighed myself down in the places of sin and defiled others thru my actions and expressions. RESTORER OF MY SOUL come and show me Your truth – expose the lies I have believed in my heart – I give You full permission to access any places in me – show me the truth I need to know – the truth about myself – and I will recognize and take ownership of the hurtful ways I have caused defilement and broken trust in my relationships. RESTORER OF MY SOUL release my heart from the places where I am a prisoner of shame. You are the caretaker of my soul, reconcile me to Yourself, to your heart, your truth and to the hearts of others. Bring healing to my fractured relationships, areas of separation and isolation. Places where my true identity has been in captivity, let me find security – that I may fulfill my destiny. Covering Grace . 9:27 min My Shepherd leads me out of the valley of sorrow prayer transcript 4 [ - ] download pdf TRACK 4 COVERING GRACE My Shepherd, it’s very dark in this place – a place I never been before – this is not familiar territory to me. I desire to ascend to the heights of Your Mountain top – My Shepherd – this terrain is not known to me – the paths that wind through the dark valley seems alarming and intimidating. The terrain is rough and this valley is steep with discouragement and disappointment – My Shepherd – my heart has lost its confidence – where are You – I feel neglected and left behind – lead me to Your higher ground. My Shepherd – You promised You will always be with me – where are You – My Shepherd – I can’t see you nor can I hear you – I feel lost – alone – afraid – My Shepherd – I know You are calling me to cross-over this adversity – but my sorrow is deep with losses – my mind can’t understand or perceive what is happening. My Shepherd – this shadow that hangs over me is dis- tressing and I find no pleasure in this place – I feel I’m going in the wrong direction – and everything is so hard. This valley is dry, so barren and so parched I feel burdened with misunderstandings, I have so many questions. It’s so hard – My Shepherd – I have no strength to fight – or to figure things out. I am humbled all around with my circumstances in this wilderness of a valley. My Shepherd – there has been many set backs – so many broken promises and unfulfilled dreams – disappointments have crushed my soul and given me a heavy spirit – the struggle is inside of me, I thought I would have been further along by now, and that my healing more complete – I’m too far into this place to turn back, I don’t know the way out of this place. My Shepherd – why have you dealt with me in this way – the promises You have spoken in my life and over my life are not evident – they are not in sight. My Shepherd – I have had to weather storms before – but this storm is alarming and threatens my life that causing dread and fear. I fear that I am susceptible to these sudden changes of the wind that sweeps down over the hills with the cold north winds – the storm approaches with greater force – it’s relentless with the cold darkness that seeps into my very existence. My Shepherd – guide and sustain me in these darkest hours – renew me with Your strength and comfort me with the touch of Your hand. My Shepherd – I know many are called but few are chosen – Lord I embrace this place and know You are designing this time to expose every fleshy confidences and every hidden wrong way within me. My Shepherd – in this valley wilderness my fears and bitterness are being exposed along with my wrong expectancies and motives • That I will always be alone. • When I need help there will be no one around to rescue me. • I will always have to fight and defend myself. • I can’t trust or rely on anyone. • There is no rest for me. • I confess that I cannot trust and this lack of trust has permeated and hindered my life and relationships even with You – My Shepherd. My Shepherd, forgive me for my sinful self-protec- tions. I renounce my old defense mechanisms, and cut myself free from them in your name – heal the wounded places of my heart. • Reassure me and comfort away my pain, so I can learn to trust again. • I embrace life, I choose life. I come out from my old hiding places, and I invite you to demolish these old false refuges of mine. I step into my new abundant life in you. I run to You, You will be my only safe place, and my strong tower. I know Your thoughts and ways are not my thoughts and ways, and I know Your heavens are higher than the earth, and so are Your thoughts higher than mine, so Lord lead me, Shepherd of mine lead me that I may lean into your embrace, that I can rest my head, hold me tight, carry me through this valley, and turn my desserts into fruitful gardens I will trust You with all of my heart and will not lean on my own understanding.
