Wicked Jungle Volume II marks the halfway point for Wicked Jungle Records first year. This time around Raket and Self Aware are joined by Thumbzo, Rends, and BattleDrone who have recent releases on the label, as well as new comers to the label Spikey Tee and Redshift. Volume II takes a slightly different route from Volume I, focusing heavily on Jungle inspired sounds. It opens with Thumbzo's classic Rare Groove-era inspired Big Tings with it's heavy tuned 808's and spliced Amen breaks. On Like a Champion, Raket drops a late 1995 style ragga roller. Next the darkness sets in on Redshift's Free Your Mind, an experiment in dark Amen deconstruction and sub bass eruptions. Self Aware continue the dark side vibes on Icarus II whose breaks are sliced and spliced with precision, taking us closer to Drum & Bass territory while still teetering on the edge of Jungle with menacing pads and extraterrestrial samples. Rends, who is accompanied by Binsky on Lurkin, takes us directly into 2016 with a dark Jump-Up tune set to raise gun fingers into the air and get the rave jumping. On Hyperspace, BattleDrone starts to take us back into the Jungle with a mid 90's style roller before Spikey Tee closes out the album in Ragga fashion on the Jungle roller vibes of Undercover Badman. The tone is set for the second half of 2016 at Wicked Jungle Records!
