简介

When my band, the Flesh Quartet (Fläskkvartetten in Swedish) decided only to work as a production unit, producing music for films and TV-series, I decided to go out alone to venues and play my electrical violin on backing tracks. The next natural step was, “Why don’t you make your own release?”   And, here it is: CLOSE TO LOVE - A statement with lots of outcomes.   Entirely produced with software instruments apart from me playing most leads on electrical violin, viola and a little acoustic viola in some places.   The different tracks all have some influence from travels and personal experiences of mine during the past years and they are all very, very dear to me. I will try to explain what they mean and what the influences are below. 1. Strikes: It feels like I am in Paris with traces of a South American feeling 2. Fallen Electro: A song with my personal Scandinavian moody scent 3. Mach: A song I developed into ballet music for Riksteatern theater in Stockholm 4. New Pregnancy: Refers to a friend of mine who performed with the Swedish Kullberg Ballet in a newly pregnant state. Entirely done with software with the love of the modulation wheel as focus 5. 98an: 98 BPM (beats per minute), I guess. A tribute to Africa and the constant struggle of the continent 6. Lakshmi: Is the goddess of love, no doubt. My audible projection of what love sounds like 7. Lind: Inspired by my pregnant friend Johanna Lind, this was one of the first tracks I created for this album. I really like the solo leads of this track 8. Sidechain: Referring to the prominent -00 decade phenomenon of using sidechain compression on a track 9. Sophomore: I read Jonathan Franzen’s book ”Freedom” and loved this specific word in it. The meaning of the word fits this song perfectly 10. Sünt: Is just a scream for personal justice, make it come! 11. Moving Down: Originally made for a Wallander episode, the Swedish crime fiction TV-series, but was never used. This track is dedicated to my wife   Deep thanks to Martin Gustafsson (aka. Hangover Boy) who helped me with the mastering and logistics behind the release of this album. This would never have happened without him.
