简介
Musicanova choir started performing in 1990. Since the beginning of its activity, the choir has been able to include in its repertoire different varieties of genres and authors, that range out from Renaissance to pop music, showing flexibility in the studying and interpretation of the different pieces. Nevertheless the choir has grown a certain experience in the Renaissance genre. Given its peculiarities, the choir has been often commissioned to perform first execution pieces, in occasions like the “Anima Mundi” Festival of Pisa (artistic director: John Eliot Gardiner). Musicanova choir has given particular attention to folk music too, giving life to a folk music show named “Roma che in… canta”, an original representation which is the result of the mixture between choral music and folk theatre. The choir is part of the “Musicanova Association”, together with other four choirs: the female choir “Eos” the youth choir “Iride” and the high school choirs “Primo Levi” and “Enriques”. In following the association’s principles, the choir is highly involved in spreading choral music among young people, strongly believing in the musical and human values of the choral activity. As a consequence, the choir often collaborates with Roman schools, from which the majority of its members come from.
