简介

Chavon Vanias was born and raised in the music industry. Today he’s known as the emerging hip-hop artist, Nizzie. He is a lyricist that expresses his love for music and his unique perspective on life through thought provoking words and imagery. He calls his lyrical style, “Club Conscious” because he delivers club head bangers with a message you might not even notice is there as you’re rocking out to one of his songs. A native of Columbia, South Carolina, Nizzie spent his early years down South before moving to Brooklyn, NY to live with his father, Tony Vanias. Tony worked in the A&R departments of Motown Records and Island/Def Jam, where Nizzie met and was inspired by music pioneers such as Stevie Wonder, Sean “Puffy” Combs, and Jay Z. Entertainment was in Nizzie’s blood. Initially exploring his acting talents with several roles in local productions, however, music was his passion and has been his daily grind since he was nine years old. Those many late nights in the recording studio with his father nurtured a burning desire for Nizzie to put his own pen to paper to write and develop his skills as a lyricist with something to say. By the age of 12, Nizzie formed his first rap group “Da Menace” (later known as 4th Suspect). After gaining notoriety with the group, Nizzie returned to South Carolina where he formed his second rap group, Darkside, and changed his stage name from Grimlinz at the time, to Young N.Y.N.E. (New York Never Ends), from which he inherited the nickname Nizzie. The group garnered success with the release of various mixtapes. In 2007, Nizzie met Metrofficial’s CEO, P. Grizz who featured Nizzie on his first sensual mixtape, “Sheet Music” and many of Grizz’s other mixtapes including “Get Familiar Vol 2” making him a hometown favorite in South Carolina. Not satisfied with local fame, Nizzie moved to Charlotte, North Carolina in 2008, where his father had relocated. There he honed his stage skills with live performances and officially took on the name Nizzie. When his father decided to start his own entertainment company, Nizzie was the first signed to Matchbox Entertainment. His single releases and videos have received great responses in social media and online. While in Charlotte, he began producing his own beats and teaming up with celebrities such as Ricco Barrino, Wiz Khalifa, and the Coalition DJ’s. In 2016, Nizzie won the Local Heights Video of the year award for his hit single, “Philippines”. Nizzie continues to increase his fan base and create his own swagger that moves hip-hop heads worldwide.
