简介
Cubbage hails from Philadelphia, but his heart is that of a traveler. With music rooted in pop/folk foundations, his style also seeks inspiration from jazz and soul reminiscent of John Mayer and Ed Sheeran. Traveling across the US in a sleeper van and busking on the streets between gigs, Cubbage has given himself wholly to a life of a modern bohemian musician. When Cubbage was asked to be a part of producer Mark Farnum's senior surround-sound recording project, there wasn't much to expect other than a weird experimental song done in 5.1.1 (surround sound). They started with a simple idea - voices surrounding the listener from all directions, creating Bon Iver like feel, but then thing's took a turn. "What if a synth from the distance came in?" "Pumped bass?" "Rhodes electric piano?" Soon enough the folky/a-cappella driven idea turned into a full fledged pop song. The result was "Disappear," originally mixed in surround sound. The ideas for the song came out so naturally, that a month later Cubbage decided to ask Mark if he was down to create more music together. The two worked the next couple months putting together the EP "Here & Now" with the help of Aaron Rizzo on electric guitars, and Spenser Forwood on drum set on "False Alarm" and "Dawn"
