This song was inspired by the events of our time. The world is drowning. War and injustice prevail. We are the only ones who can change the course of the world.

Divinity Roxx studied with June Jordan at UC Berkeley in the Poetry for the People Program and remembers June saying, if you had 2 minutes to say anything to the world, what would you say. Divinity wrote 'We Are' in the spirit of June Jordan, in the spirit of social rebellion, in the spirit of hope for the hopeless, love for the forgotten and justice for those who continue to be denied an opportunity to live in freedom and pursue happiness.
