简介
Organically Good Trio is a Hammond organ driven roots instrumental group out of Boston. Founded by Slightly Stoopid keyboard player Paul Wolstencroft, the band has a sound reminiscent of the great organ trio albums of the late 60's. The music takes elements of jazz, and incorporates a blues, R&B and church. There's a lot of feeling involved, and a lot of Ray Charles influence, and even some hints of reggae. At times they sound like Grant Green, the Meters or even Jimmy McGriff, but also can resemble newer bands such as the Mighty Imperials and the New Mastersounds. There's a reason they use a Hammond organ in a church; its because it's a very soulful instrument. It's like an entire orchestra at your fingertips. Often imitated never duplicated, the Hammond organ is the organ sound everyone is after. The debut album - Alakazam, will be available Sept 1st on Stoopid Records. It features the amazing skills of Steve Fell on guitar, and the soulful grooves of Eric Kalb on drums (John Schofield, Charlie Hunter, Dap Kings). The album also features a ton of guests including Timo Shanko (G Love), Karl Denson (greyboy all stars, tiny universe), and Rymo (slightly stoopid).
