简介

Why “On the fly”... We went to Gigi to record some songs for a “demo”, without having prepared any list or any arrangement, to feel really free to decide at the moment what to do... That morning there was a cold fog outside, but in the studio the atmosphere was warm and sunny, with gaiety and lightness that make you feel good and even better. Gigi is a wonderful host, we were on vacation: no hurry, no programs. So we went on freely, we get carried away by our feeling that has marked the rhythm of songs we have never trained before ... and, with some "coffee break" and that special kind of chocolate we ate when we were kids, we found that it was already dark outside. Just a few takes, no corrections, the background noise of those who voluntarily beat the rhythm as one sings or plays, slide notes and smiles on faces through the glass: this record was born in this way, "right at first time", totally improvised and recorded as if we were on stage. We had fun and emotion, the music can give even this magic, too ... Note: in current language “on the fly" means “improvised, unplanned, done on time, something created when needed and desired. In short, you do it because you want to do it, without much thought. In fact, even in the coldest computer language “on the fly" is the burning process that occurs directly from the source data to destination, without the support of any temporary files. MARCO DETTO is surely one of the greatest jazz pianists in Italy, his art is recognized all around the world thanks to the numerous collaborations with international musicians such as Peter Erskine, Palle Danielsson, Eddie Gomez, Lenny White, Jeremy Steig, in addition to an endless list of Italian musicians such as Bruno De Filippi, Franco Cerri and his association with the historic Marco Antonio Ricci. Many works to his credit: in 1992 he recorded his first CD, followed by other 11 ones, the last one published in the spring of 2010 ("In the meantime"). Composer and pianist of great talent and sensibility, combining musical imagination, passion, energy, romance, a surprising creative improvisation. In 2000, Eddie Gomez wants with it in three concerts in his group with L. White and J. Steig, replacing Mc.Tyner and Chick Corea, the "IV International festival of classical music and jazz on the Elba Island; after this happy meeting in 2001, he goes to New York to record "What a Wonderful World" which will be followed by a tour in Italy. The song "Lasciarsi andare" from the CD "Bluestones" (2005) won the Honorable Mention in the Jazz category at the International Songwriting Competition 2006 (ISC). Participated in several radio broadcasts on RAI Radio Tre. BEATRICE ZANOLINI is a natural talent with a different way of making music, with new and refined interpretations: a true "vocal music", from the great classics of of Brazilian, jazz, pop and soul standards, to new compositions and extraordinary authors. She also writes lyrics (presented during concerts and recordings). Her relationship with music has been cultivated and enriched over the years through dance, even by teaching it, for over 10 years. In 2003 she released her first CD of international covers, "Aro'a nui". Since 2004, her voice joined other artists looking for new musical languages. Her album "You make me feel better" was released in 2007, in Italy and abroad, in over 30,000 copies; in 2008 great success of the show / concert "Canto, quindi sono” at Strehler Theatre. She has performed, among the others, the Blue Note in Milan, in Villa Arconati; at Strehler, Carcano, Sala Fontana and Manzoni Theatres; at Spazio Zazie, during the International Festival of Besana Brianza, at the Vigorelli Stadium of Milan, at Castle of Inverno. She has some important musical projects: a jazz & soul quintet of excellence (WhiteBlack); a duo piano and voice Duo with Marco Detto; a guitar and voice Duo with Riccardo Bianchi; the Maribè Trio with Riccardo Bianchi and Marco Antonio Ricci (doublebass); she is working on a project with Paolo Pilo, guitarist and composer. She sang, among the others, with Franco Cerri Bruno de Filippi, Marco Antonio Ricci, Marco Detto, Giulio Visibelli, Riccardo Bianchi, Paolo Alderighi, Walter Calloni, Nick the Nightfly, Paolo Costa, Marco Brioschi, Lele Melotti, Fabrizio Bernasconi, Tommy Bradascio, the Soloists of Accademia delle Opere Symphony Orchestra. The upcoming a refined CD of songs with acoustic arrangements made and executed in quartet with Riccardo Bianchi (guitar), Marco Antonio Ricci (doublebass), Giulio Visibelli (sax and flute). "... there is not only strength .. Marco Detto turns out to be a great musician for his melody, he is simple and Latin, deeply influenced by blues and gospel when you least expect it. Artistically he deserves: 10" - Carlo Peroni, journalist for "La Libertà" "Beatrice, a wonderful mix of sensitivity and creativity, a caressing voice that knows too well how to interpret the lyrics, which is soul and melody, with a rare" feel "that reaches you, envelops you and takes you away" - Larry McWilliams, Musician and Professor at Ball Street University, Indiana USA Play music in Duo is a wonderful training, often "magical", whatever instruments are involved, it is evocative, intimate, delicate and charming. Perhaps because the basic elements of music, all music in general, are three (harmony, melody and rhythm), while the elements of the Duo are just only two. But when each element in a Duo helps the other to perform at his best it means that the harmony is no longer just a musical status but it is also, and especially, an emotional value, it is complicity, understanding, empathy. For this reason, performing as a Duo is certainly much more difficult because you risk to feel there’s always something missing... You must rely upon the balance between the elements in the arrangements, the ability to interact and improvise. And when one of the two is the voice, it is very important that this is not too dominant, because in the Duo the "vocal music" wins if it blends perfectly with the other instrument, expressing harmony, melody and rhythm, in perfect balance.
