Bunky Green - Legendary jazz alto saxophone stylist "He's a bad cat" Terence Blanchard - Grammy award winning jazz trumpeter/composer Currently residing in central Florida, professional multi-instrumentalist and recording artist Miguel Alvarado is quickly creating momentum in the vast and colorful world of music. Originally from Tampa, Florida, he began playing the saxophone at age 11. Miguel Alvarado played in a large variety of bands in the local area. From Blues and Top 40's, to Salsa and Merengue, He learned from all the styles he could at a young age. In 2001, Miguel Alvarado graduated high school and attended the University of North Florida and studied under the guidance of jazz legend Bunky Green, Kevin Bales, Ricky Ravelo, John Ricci, and many others. Over the years, Miguel Alvarado has had the honor of performing with some of the worlds leading authorities in music. A few of those being: Terence Blanchard, Bunky Green, Martin Bejerano, Eric Reed, The Nelson Riddle Orquestra, Herlin Riley, Roy Dunlap, Wes Anderson, Cab Calloway Orquestra, Marcus Printup, Ryan Scott, Vincent Gardner, Chris Crenshaw, Aditya Banerjee, Ben Tucker, Jason Marsalis, Nicholas Thys, Ricky Ravelo, Barry Greene, The Doug Carn Quartet and Quintet, Aaron Deihl, Garaj Mahal, Brandon Lee, The Sultan's of Swing, Eddie Palmieri, Giovanni Hidalgo, Bela Flek, Victor Wooten, Jeff Coffin, Jeremy Noller, Dan Loomis, Luisito Carrion, Marcus Roberts, Scotty Barnhart, Luisito Carrion, El Cano Estremera, Andy Montanez, Lalo Rodriguez, Chroma, One Drop, Christian Tamburr Septet, Alex Nguyen Quartet, Dave Potter, Will Goble, and pop super stars such as George Clinton and John Popper. As well as extensive touring in the states, some of the countries, and venues Miguel has toured include France, Germany, Holland, Switzerland, North Sea, Jazz a Vienne, Montreaux, Jacksonville Jazz Festival, Clearwater Jazz Festival, Bear Creek Music Festival, IAJE, and Midwest Clinic in Chicago.
