简介
Tennille Amor (born Tennille De Freitas) is originally from Trinidad, but has lived all over the world, including Egypt, Singapore, England and Scotland. She now lives in New York, and spends a lot of her time working with producers there, in California, and in Trinidad, as she is currently recording her debut album 'EVOLVE through LOVE'. Producers on the album include; Jay Bowman (Michael Franti, Pink, Sting), Sly & Robbie (Gwen Stefani, Rihanna, Britney Spears), David Simmons (Damian Marley, Stephen Marley, Ky-Mani Marley), Andre "GC" Fennell (Shaggy, Collie Buddz, Maxi Priest), and Precision Productions (Machel Montano, Maximus Dan, and Bunji Garlin). ‘EVOLVE through LOVE’ combines edgy pop with hip-hop, and Tennille’s soulful reggae roots, creating an album that is emotionally charged, and mainstream friendly. Songs like, 'Not the One' (Tennille's first single to Shaggy's Calabash riddim), 'I Want Your Love,' (an emotional dance record featuring Bunji Garlin), 'Fire' (a sexy song about the dangers of lust, featuring Mr. Vegas), 'Walk Away' (a rap ballad about recognizing when it's time to leave a bad relationship), and ‘White Picket Fences’ (a tongue-in-cheek take on love lost), take the listener on a roller-coaster ride of romantic love. Other songs on the album focus instead on love in its other forms, with ‘Pay Attention’ (a dancehall anthem, spreading life lessons through a forceful hook and an addictive beat), ‘Lion’ (Tennille's second single that was inspired by her first trip to Tanzania, dealing with the hardships faced by so many living in the developing world), and ‘Worldwide Child’ (an autobiographical song about Tennille’s intriguing life spent all over the world). With the very first song on the album, ‘Calling Out,' Tennille lets us know that she is "Calling out to the fearless souls, and the ones who hold on to hope." It is through this, and the standout pop single, ‘Robotic,’ that Tennille brings blatant attention to her creative versatility, and refusal to be limited by any artistic boxes or musical constraints, making clear that she fits into a genre of her own. This revolutionary new sound is one that is sure to take the industry by storm, especially in an age where the young listener’s attention span is hungering for an artist who will constantly peak their interest by keeping things fresh, new, and exciting. No song on the album sounds the same, giving each an original character, fitting beautifully together in an autobiographical adventure about the evolution through life and the lessons learned from love in its many forms. Tennille's endless pursuit of travel and understanding of different cultures fuels her desire to unite people of every race, class, and creed through love and music. In following her personal path she has found her true sound, exhibiting her multifaceted capabilities (from mainstream pop to quick-tongued rap), which allow her to create music that is unexpected, deeply addictive, commercially pleasing, and lyrically inspiring. Tennille also co-founded the charity E.P.I.C. (Everyday People Initiating Change) with her business partner and best friend, Alexi Panos. Through E.P.I.C., the girls have been featured on MTV and JetBlue, have teamed up with the new Quiksilver women's line, are currently partnered with CAT Footwear, and are drilling clean water wells in Tanzania, Africa, while continuing to spread the message that Everyday People are more than capable of Initiating positive Change in the world.
