Take Two features soulful ballads by Irish songwriter Sean McCabe and the vibrant fiddle playing of Cady Finlayson. A storyteller at heart, McCabe's songs deal with emigration, being in a new place, and the characters that shaped his life as a travelling musician. Cady Finlayson (fiddle) worked with Sean McCabe for several years and this CD is the result of their many shows together. The fiddle tunes on Take Two include mixing Irish reels with Brazilian percussion (i.e. Silver Spear Set) for a lively set that will get you dancing, and more traditional jig sets, such as Tar Road to Sligo. At the present time, Sean McCabe performs both as a solo artist and with his band The McCabes. Cady Finlayson performs as a duo with guitarist Vita Tanga and with her five-piece Irish band (Cady Finlayson Band) which is based in New York City.
