简介
This is a song about a song. I wrote this while riding my Harley down to Nashville. I couldn't wait to get it to the studio. I had been doing sessions for about 8 months and at each recording session we would cut 3 tracks. I called up the studio and said we need to add this song now so it will make it to the CD and everyone agreed to cut it by itself. I'm glad we did. Melody is a ballad about a song, but you would think it is about a girl named Melody. It's not. In one line of the verse he says " you're my Melody, you're trapped inside of me, you won't be very long, and we can sing along . You don't belong to me, you're trapped inside of me until I set you free, you're my Melody." Songwriters have songs trapped inside their head and they would never be heard if they did not set them free by recording it . I think Melody is a beautiful song with interesting chords and a simple arrangement. This song really doesn't need a huge production. This is one of those ballads that Kenny Loggins would sit down with an acoustic guitar and blow his audience away. With his powerful voice and conviction in his heart, he could make this song great. This is not a sales pitch for Kenny but I'm a Loggins fan and I would like to hear him sing this song someday......
