Dolma incorporates meditative music compositions, which include Sanskrit mantras into moody atmospheric as well as upbeat contemporary settings. Kirtan is a style of chanting hymns or mantras to the accompaniment of instruments such as the harmonium, tablas, the two-headed mrdanga or pakawaj drum and hand cymbals, in India’s Bhakti devotional tradition. Dolma incorporates her unique genre crossing songwriting style, a decade of experience in music production, and performance, blending jazz, blues, ambient piano, Latin, Eastern Indian, trip hop, trance and other world music into her sound. Dolma's mission has been to assemble a group of musicians that share a passion for improvisation and musical exploration, and to develop a united musical vision. The focus of the collective is on the art form itself, despite the current trend of image-driven music on the scene today. Dolma aims to create progressive music in an effort to move the art form forward and re establish substance over hype.
