简介
by Brad MillsA founding member of the New York City battle DJ crew the X-Ecutioners (formerly known as the X-Men), Raida pulls off a great compilation with an underlying radio-show theme with Crossfaderz. This is a collection of late-'90s rap hits with a bit of an emphasis on NY's Diggin' in the Crates crew (D.I.T.C.) featuring Showbiz, AG, Fat Joe, and Big L. There's even a play on Big L's first album, Lifestyles of the Poor and Dangerous, with a skit entitled "Lifestyles of the Rich and Dangerous." The cutting and scratching on this album is top-notch, as Raida is considered to be one of the world's best turntablists. There's also a welcome appearance by Q-Bert and D-Styles of the Invisibl Skratch Picklz DJ crew from San Francisco. DJ Q-Bert was the DMC World Turntablist Champion three years in a row in the mid-90's.
