Electronic Assignment is the new EP by Lee Rankin, set for a January 2013 release on Element Recordings. The Birmingham based DJ / Producer builds on the Techno / Tech House grooves that have become a trademark of his live sets, adding his own eclectic twists which pay homage to a long standing love of Electronic Dance Music stretching back to early 80's electro. The explosion of the House, Acid House & Warehouse scenes then fuelled the fires of passion burning within, and artists such as Ben Simms, Carl Cox, The Advent, Apex Twin, Plastik Man & Kraftwork influenced the desire to make music his life's work. Lee Rankin's talent was discovered by Element and viewed by the label very much as a jewel in the crown, epitomising their own progressive ethos to explore new stylistic & creative visions, always seeking to invigorate dancefloors. The 4 track Electronic Assignment EP crosses over techno, tech house and deep house beats, but also showcases licks of Lee Rankins long term influences in music. Element is very excited with it's relationship with this talented producer, and with a formidable catalogue of new material in the bank; this points to an exciting future for the partnership!
