Behind Jen's cabin in the woods of Idyllwild, there is a sliding door covered in roofing tiles. Peel it back and you'll find a stairway leading down to a creaky metal door. Crack that open, and you'll find Jen's recording space: a 1950's bomb shelter. All of the songs on Shelter Songs were recorded in this space, then mixed and mastered at Sonic Pathways in Salt Lake City, UT.

If you were to spend any time in the bomb shelter, you might understand why Jen chose to record songs of comfort here. Because there are places that need it: from creepy dark holes in the ground to our sometimes hardened hearts. These eight songs were chosen to uplift and nurture, and to lull you into sweet, big dreams.
