简介
On a snowy Sunday in February of 2005, over 500 people gathered at Central Lutheran Church in Minneapolis to raise their voices in song. This hymn festival was a celebration of the 50th Anniversary of the Sing For Joy radio program, its missioin and an expression of the power of Word and music. Sing For Joy, produced by St. Olaf College, is a program of the Office of Church Relations. As a college of the church, St. Olaf values its church-relatedness that is manifested in a number of ways -- through relationships with congregations and synods, through events on campus that are rooted in faith issues and outreach, and very significantly through Sing For Joy. These programs embrace an ecumenical audience, providing values and viewpoints that strengthen and encourage our initiatives. Our goal is to continue to provide Sing For Joy's constituents with excellent music and thought-provoking commentary that strengthens listeners' worship life and supports the church in evangelism and worship. We are most proud of the 50-year legacy of Sing For Joy and look forward to a strong and growing ministry with this program. To find out where you can hear Sing For Joy or how you can bring the program to a radio station in your area, call (507) 646-8596 or go to www.singforjoy.org.
