简介
Noah Hoffeld is a cellist and singer-songwriter living and working in New York City. Equally at home in Classical Music as in Pop, he's engaged in diverse environments around the world, as a composer and producer for film and the stage, and as a creator of string and orchestral arrangements for a broad spectrum of projects. A graduate of The Juilliard School, Noah's continued his Classical pursuits while performing Jazz, Rock, R&B, and World Music, playing New York venues from Carnegie Hall to The Apollo Theater and touring internationally. He has been featured in performance and recording with some of the greats, including Philip Glass, Renee Fleming, Mark Ribot, Pete Seeger, Glen Velez and as soloist on the Grammy-nominated All in One by Brazilian superstar Bebel Gilberto. Noah is a member of Fabian Almazan's Rhizome octet, on Blue Note Records. His ability to fuse classical styles with contemporary sounds has lent him a place in composing for film and tv, including an Avon campaign for breast cancer awareness on The Lifetime Channel. In collaboration with the Brad Mehldau Trio, his cello solos accompany Charlotte Gainsbourg's performance in Sony Classics' My Wife is an Actress. His solos are featured in the Lionsgate release, The Skeleton Twins, starring Kristin Wiig and Bill Hader, and in "A Walk in the Woods' starring Robert Redford, as well as in numerous other films. His album, Sacred Time: Jewish Music for Cello and Piano, with Lee Feldman, includes traditional and original compositions. “You’ll rarely hear the Kol Nidrei played with as much depth and soul ....A gorgeous piece of playing” writes Seth Rogovoy, author of The Essential Klezmer. Noah has served as cello instructor to James Taylor and has been featured in photography with Iman and his cello for W Magazine. Sought after as producer of singer-songwriters and instrumental projects, Hoffeld is a songwriter himself. A new album of original rock songs- 'Play Human' coming this Summer to a phonograph near you!
