Cade has taken huge strides in his career of late, with this single being hot of the back of his critically acclaimed Find My Way on 2020Vision. // Southern-England born Jonny Cade has been steadily blooming as an artist over the past few years, the budding young Brit was raised on the sounds of the UK underground, finding his initial style in London and later affirming his love for house while living in Leeds, another thriving scene in the country. Since his initial split EP on Leftroom, Cade has gone on to release with reputable imprints such as Kolour and Moodmusic and most notably 2020Vision. Jonny adds another leading label to the list here as he joins the ALiVE roster, positioning him alongside Shadow Child, Leftwing & Kody and Copy Paste Soul on the label. // The release kicks off with Wanna Be You, a contemporary Garage-House crossover cut built around stuttering vocal lines, rugged bass and direct 4/4 rhythms. Cade then layers an amalgamation of synthesized elements such as tension building strings, raw stabs and sweepings pads alongside intricate elongated filter builds, subtle delays and expansive reverbs to build a bumpy, dance-floor focused opening record. Following is Lonely which sees things delve into deeper territories with ethereal atmospherics, an infectiously hooky saw-wave bass hook and murmuring vocals, running alongside shuffled drums and multiple layered melodies to create a mood-driven, understated house track. // Then finally to close the EP we have Why Not, Cade opts for a contrast in comparison to the preceding tracks here, bringing weighty distorted toms to the forefront to fuel the driving groove, while a rave style chord-progression and swirling resonant sweeps add an old-school feel to the classic meets contemporary production. // www.aliverecordings.com
