简介

Please see the exclusive One-on-One liner notes with Likwuid: Gummy Bears & Champagne: Originally this track was going to be a 70's themed audio movie. But the more that I listened to it, I knew it felt more like a prelude to what was about to occur musically on the album. I felt like it was a good time to introduce myself, to give folks a little background on who I am, and to give brief insight my personality. Kodi Me'chele jumped in on the chorus and made the song complete with her comedic twist. Lastly, Coole High was the cherry on top. I've always had a special guy set the tone for my projects: on Likwuidation, it was my big brother Eclipze, and on Southern Belle, my boy Conquest did the Non-intro, and now on GBCG, Coole High set it off. It's kinda dope because the album begins and ends with Coole's voice. GO L (What Recession): GO L is the summer anthem track. Whenever the beat drops, I automatically visualize children playing in the park and open fire hydrants pouring water onto the streets on a hot humid day. When 2Hungry Bros sent me the beat, I immediately heard the hook and the theme. I just wanted to make a power song for folks starting off their day...it's like a shot of espresso- a quick pick me upper! Who's Down: After everything that has happened this past year, who's still here with me??? Honestly it's the same folks who were there with me from the very beginning. "Who's Down" is just a proclamation of my steadfastness as an artist. I've matured a lot in a small amount of time and this song basically proclaims my feelings on my growth and determination. Thank God for true friends; because it sucks to be loyal in an un-loyal industry. Carolina (Souf with an F): It's where I'm from; so Midi Marc and I made an anthem for those folks who share our birthplace....nuff said. And shout outs to my cousin Q for telling me to write another verse. (The 3rd verse really summed everything up.) Camel Toe: It really bothers me when guys claim that they make songs dedicated to women and then the message is offensive and misrepresented. This song is actually about 2 years old....the sad thing is it's still relevant. It was loosely based on a series of events. But all in all the song is for fun! Moreover, Ced L Young just makes a soundtrack that you can paint almost any picture to. All I$ Fare: This track was another gem. My old management team from this other group that I was in had caught wind of some of my progress, and wanted to send me a few tracks. As soon as the beat dropped I was in love!!!! I knew the album need a bit more substance, but I wanted to navigate away from the traditional message driven music. After thinking about the recent oil leak in the US and how I'm sure it's a red herring to perpetuate this stupid war that we are fighting for reasons unknown to anyone- including the troops fighting-I figured I'd make an anthem on why we should never fight ANY wars. Make love, not war! Yeah? All is fair...in love and war- unless you're funding a war to fund a government. I Cry: When Rodrick sent me this orchestra of a production, I felt like this song was an opportunity to address a few social concerns that I had. I didn't want the song to come across too "preachy" so the topic matter is blunt and to the point, but not necessarily in speech form. Both the Wyze Mindz and SQ were driving forces in the delivery of the ideas conveyed. I feel like this song was a complete piece of work. Soul Rebel: Originally this track was meant for a different album, however, the more I listened to it, I knew it belonged with this piece of work. As the oldest track on the project, Soul Rebel symbolizes my growth. It picks up where Rebel Song left off although it's its predecessor...an album later, here it is. Snapshot: Peace and I have been planning an album since 2007. I guess this is a snapshot of what's to come. The premise for this song is the behavior that we have learned to adapt with "social networking" sites and the internet in general. All of these portals boil down to one practice: Invasion of Privacy. Don't ever voluntarily give up a right that you duly own as a human being. My Life: When I first heard this beat, the hook spoke itself to me. I was in the space between living in a dream world and actually living my dream. I finally got to the point where I was like "eff it"...I'm going to do this. Rocki's voice just brought the hook to life. Originally this song was to be on another project, however it got cut from the EP almost immediately after it was recorded. Since I was so attached to the theme, I had to rock with it. Goddess Love---> Eternity God is love and there is no greater emotion or force. Money can't by you happiness or security; but love can accommodate all needs. All in all, don't sell your soul; because that's where you store love. A Toast What better way to end an album called "Gummy Bears and Champagne" than with "A Toast". The song titled was actually "Cognac Sipping" when Coole High was prepping the song for one of his projects; but thank God he saw fit to pass on the baton to me! (Thanks big bro!) Honestly this track was a complete project, Coole had the hook, verse and beat all complete...I felt spoiled in a way. *smile* This track is definitely one of my favorite joints. I actually wrote these two verses like 2 years ago in class.*sigh* In between my marketing notes and a professor's lecture came two verses of outro material. BANG!
