This album showcases the many sounds of the Garinagu people of Belize and Central America. The Garinagu are descendants of Island Caribs and African slaves. The beautiful island of St. Vincent was their home until they were exiled by the British. For months they travelled along the coast of Central America bringing along their food music and culture. Today they can be found in countries such Nicarugua, Honduras, Guatemala and Belize. The pulsating rhythm of the Garinagu people have been used as part of religious ceremonies and in celebrating various events.
